Al-Bayda, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Al-Bayda governorate has attracted attention again since the beginning of this month, with the outbreak of fierce battles, the first spark of which ignited the resistance of the Humaiqan family and the Giants’ forces, with a wide military operation that culminated in the liberation of the center of the district of Al-Zaher, which turned into a desperate defense for the stability of the liberated areas.

The exhausted Houthi militia on the desert and mountainous vicinity of the city of Marib took several days to be able to mobilize groups from the fighting fronts and other fighters from districts such as Al-Sawadiyah and the city of Radaa, and from the governorates of Dhamar and Ibb, which are close to Al-Bayda, to avoid the fall of other areas in the center and south of Al-Bayda.

The Houthi militia takes the same strategy to move the battle to any front it wants, without the army forces having any effectiveness to exploit the Houthis’ numerical shortage on the rest of the fronts, until this became the norm between the two parties or agreed “rules of engagement.”

The tactic also takes the same attack, as it focuses its attack on a specific geographical area with successive human patterns like waves under heavy fire and air cover and missile strikes, and it does not care about how many of its elements have been neutralized as much as it is interested in answering positively the question of whether the goal of the attack was achieved.

While the militia, in the case of defense, depends entirely on the minefields that it lays around its areas of control, its sites, its barriers, and its barracks.

The battlefield of Al-Bayda can currently be divided into two main axes: the first is western, and its breadth reached the climax of the Al-Zaher district, reaching the mountains of Helmous on the outskirts of the Dhi Na’em district, before it recedes to large parts of the Al-Zaher district, while the second axis is east, in which the battles extended from the Hazmiyah front to the Mudhafar family the first areas of Al-Bayda District.

While the Houthis regained part of what they had lost in Zaher Al Humaiqan, including the district center, the Hazmiyah front showed a greater ability to secure the liberated areas and thwart the Houthi attacks.

Despite their happiness with the victories achieved in the battle of Al-Zaher, a number of Marib residents expressed their fear that it would be another Radman, in reference to the dangerous repercussions of the tribal disaffection led by Sheikh Yasser Al-Awadi in the Radman district in Al-Bayda, which led in July 2020 to the fall of Radman along with the Qani Front and two other districts, from the districts of the neighboring Marib governorate are Rahba and Mahlia, all the way to the outskirts of the districts of Jabal Murad, Al-Juba and Al-Abdiyah.

But the reality of the situation confirms that the resistance and giants absorbed the shock of the Houthi attacks, which achieved a limited victory in its first two days, and after that it was unable to achieve any significant progress until today in light of the massive bleeding in its human element, and this does not mean that the victories of the resistance and giants are without sacrifices.

A resident of the region revealed that there were 40 martyrs, and twice as many were wounded, in the first week of Al-Zaher’s battles against the Houthi militia.

As the battles are at their fiercest, the Houthi mobilization and reinforcements to Al-Zaher and Al-Sawma’a from the Giants’ forces and the Sarru Himyar tribes are also at their most intense.

According to local sources, the arrival of human reinforcements and military equipment to the giants from the western coast and the tribal groups of the sons of Yafa continued.

This means that the region is facing fierce battles that will not stop in al-Zaher and al-Suma’a, but may move further, such as the district of Dhi Na’em, the city of Awain and its junction, while the battle to liberate the city of al-Bayda – if the resistance and giants continue to tighten its encirclement – is the mother of all battles.
