Al-Walidi appeals to the government to pay the dues, which have been overdue for months

Aden, NewsYemen:

 The Director General of the General Electricity Corporation in the capital, Aden, Salem Al-Walidi, launched an urgent appeal to the government, represented by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Electricity and other concerned parties, to expedite the payment of the dues of the purchased energy companies.

Al-Walidi said that the purchased energy companies have gradually reduced their generation, due to the government's failure to fulfill its previous pledges to pay the financial dues to them that have been overdue for months.

Al-Walidi called on the concerned authorities to consider the extent of the suffering experienced by the people of the capital, Aden, due to the aggravation of the hours of power outages in light of the high temperatures.

He pointed out that all the efforts made by the Foundation will not succeed if the government and the concerned authorities do not respond to the companies' demands and find a quick mechanism to pay the overdue dues.
