Sana'a, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Houthi militia intends to dismiss more than 700 employees of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology under its control in the capital, Sanaa, from their jobs, and replace them with elements of its followers.

NewsYemen, a source in the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, stated that the Houthi-appointed minister, Misfer Al-Nimr, issued a decision to retire (750) employees, in violation of the law, but postponed implementation.

The source said that the Houthi minister postponed the implementation of the decision to study the possibilities of the employees’ reaction to the final dismissal, in addition to the objection of the General Organization for Insurance and Pensions in Sana’a, due to the failure to ensure the adoption of their pension benefits within its budget, especially with the militia continuing to seize the salaries of public sector employees since  2016.

According to the source of "NewsYmen", the Houthi militia passed this decision with an internal retirement decision so that the names of the (750) employees are downloaded from the payrolls of the ministry and its institutions, while maintaining the financial dues they receive within the expenses of the Ministry of the Interior, which will allow the Houthis  By replacing these cadres with loyal elements, while continuing to pay their dues for a certain period, and then they are cut off.

The decision comes within a Houthi scheme led by Ahmed Hamid, appointed to the position of the so-called Director of the Presidential Office, and Salim Mughales, Minister of Civil Service in the unrecognized militia government, to retire tens of thousands of government employees from various state institutions and bodies in their areas of influence, from  without rights.

The telecommunications sector is one of the most important financial arteries that feed the Houthis with billions of riyals per month, with the continued failure of the government of interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to liberate the sector, since September 2014.
