Aden, NewsYemen:

Human Rights Watch said, on Wednesday, that health workers in areas under Houthi control face many obstacles to obtaining Corona vaccines, and that the vaccines may expire before they can be used.

In a statement, Human Rights Watch stressed that the Houthi authorities are exposing health workers in the country to unnecessary danger by failing to take the available steps to confront Corona, which may exacerbate the collapse of the health system in the country.

It criticized the Houthi authorities' misleading about the epidemic and their undermining of international efforts to distribute vaccines.

The World Health Organization had announced, in early June, that the vaccination campaign would begin in Houthi-controlled areas, starting with 10,000 doses for health workers.

And Human Rights Watch explained that this plan was welcomed by health workers who are fighting the Corona virus without much help, but it turned out until last month that even the distribution of this small amount of vaccines was out of reach.

The organization's statement accused the Houthi group of causing most of the obstacles by not being willing to seriously deal with the epidemic, and also prevented the publication of information about the campaign on social media and imposed on health workers to donate blood before receiving the vaccine.

The organization's statement indicated that 150 doctors died in the country as a result of the Corona virus, according to the Association of Yemeni Doctors in Diaspora, and most of them were working in the capital, Sana'a.
