Sana'a, NewsYemen:

Member of Parliament Ahmed Saif Hashed warned, on Tuesday, of an upcoming fatal dose launched by the de facto authority in Sanaa (the Houthi coup militia) by imposing the full sales tax on imported goods at the dollar exchange rate in the market of 600 riyals instead of the previous approved price of 250 riyals.

Parliament Hashid said, in a series of posts on his Facebook account: “New doses … I now have an important notification from customs to all carriers of goods and merchandise, stating that the customs center will impose the entire sales tax on goods and calculate it according to the sales tax law at the exchange rate of the dollar.”  In the market, 600 riyals, while in the past the dollar was calculated at 250 riyals,” explaining that the new increase in the exchange rate difference “will increase the tax twice, and only the simple citizen will bear it.”

He added, "Raising the customs dollar from 250 to 600 means a doubling of all customs revenues collected... This means that a fatal dose is coming, which is more than the distressed citizen can bear, especially since everything we import except for looters, thieves and corrupt people... and even this did not  We accept it, and the joint corruption with organizations is the best witness... What we import, at the very least, is 90% of what we consume."

He asked the Houthi group (Iran's arm in Yemen) in light of its taking this action, saying: "Do you want to execute us..?!!".

Parliamentarian Hashed revealed that the House of Representatives received a complaint and a grievance from the international transport offices about illegal procedures for the collection authority (the Houthi militia), including that one commodity is demarcated to about four times, including customs duties, interest, fines, profit and sales tax, value added, quality and improvement fees, and petty clearance and losses of shipping...etc.

He added, "Unfair fines are also doubled from time to time, under new names and for multiple reasons that have no basis in the law."

Hashed also revealed that the Tax Authority has doubled new burdens and imposed them on taxpayers, including the exchange rate difference for the lump-sum tax at customs ports.

The parliamentarian, Hashed, warned the de-facto Houthi authority of the repercussions of these illegal measures, saying, “It is not us or our pens who will lose you in your popular pockets. Rather, it is your continuous and successive collection measures, your excessive greed and greed for money, your obsession with collections without consideration or consideration, and your abandonment of the service role of the authority in favor of collections.”  And your horrific detraction of citizenship, spreading your darkness and imposing your orientations on society, your tyranny and your possession of all rights, and your targeting of the citizen in his life, livelihood and life.

He concluded his publications by saying, "The coup needs a coup."
