Aden, NewsYemen:

Al Tadamon Islamic Bank said, on Wednesday, that the interim president, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, has two bank accounts, one in the Yemeni riyal and the other in the Saudi riyal, and linked to investments outside Yemen owned by Hadi.

This came in an official memorandum, addressed to the governor of the Central Bank in Sanaa, by Mahmoud Al-Rifai, director of Al-Tadamon Islamic Bank, in response to a letter issued by the Houthi criminal prosecution, requesting the bank to confiscate the funds in 3 accounts of "Hadi".

In the memo, the director of Al-Tadamon Islamic Bank confirmed that Hadi maintains an account with the bank in Yemeni riyals invested with the Central Bank, and another account in Saudi riyals, and the latter is an investment account linked to foreign investments owned by "Hadi".

Al-Rifai asked, from the governor of the Central Bank of the Houthis, to work politely under the directives of the head of the so-called Supreme Political Council, Mahdi Al-Mashat, and to stop working on the decisions of the criminal prosecution until the banking system is unified from any problems that will have a significant impact on the national economy.

He revealed that they had received a warning from the sanctions committee of the UN Security Council against dealing with the decisions issued by the criminal prosecution and the judicial guard in the Houthi authority in Sanaa.

The director of Al-Tadamon Bank said that the International Sanctions Committee considered that the bank's implementation of the decisions issued by the Houthi criminal prosecution falls under the money laundering and terrorist financing item.

The bank indicated that it maintains important assets in areas outside the control of what it called the "Salvation Government", affiliated with the Houthis, which means that it will be under pressure to pay money to the client (President Hadi), and this will cause the greatest harm to the bank and its clients.

The Houthis’ criminal prosecution directed two days ago the confiscation of more than 32 billion Yemeni riyals, and 636 million Saudi riyals, from three accounts of the interim president, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, in the International Islamic Solidarity Bank.

In an official memorandum reviewed by NewsYemen, the Criminal Prosecution addressed the Islamic Solidarity Bank to transfer the confiscated funds from Hadi’s accounts to an account in the central bank under the control of the militia in Sana’a.

The document revealed that President Hadi owns an amount of 31,289,623,900 Yemeni riyals in a bank portfolio at Tadhamon Bank, and 636,221,984.25 Saudi riyals in a current computer, in addition to 907,722,643.33 Yemeni riyals, in a third account for "Hadi", in the same bank.

Earlier, the Houthi militia seized the balances of the International Solidarity Bank, to pressure it, to hand it over one billion Saudi riyals, which the interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi deposited in an account in his name during 2012.

The amount is a financial grant to Yemen, provided by the late Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, but Hadi acquired it and deposited it in his name in the bank owned by the Hayel Saeed Anam Group.
