Khawkha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

A group of children in the Al-Qataba area of the Al-Khawkha district found a smoke bomb from the remnants of the Houthi militia, which calls for intensifying efforts to clear the district and ensure that it is free of Houthi containers and mines.

A local source stated to NewsYemen, that five children found the smoke bomb and tried to smash it with stones to see what was inside, but one of the soldiers in the joint forces took it and delivered it to one of the engineering units.

Although the bomb does not pose a significant threat, the Khawkha, which the Masam program announced last year is close to declaring it free of Houthi missiles, mines and IEDs, needs to be reviewed.

Efforts to educate the people of the Directorate of the danger of foreign bodies also need to be intensified to inform people of the danger of the projectiles left by the Houthi militia.

Since its liberation, about 1,200 victims have fallen victim to mines by the Houthi militia in the directorates of the West Coast, the majority of whom are children.
