Informed sources in Sana'a reported that the Houthi militia assigned the leadership of the Ma'rib and Al-Jawf fronts to the leader, Abdullah Al-Hakim, nicknamed “Abu Ali Al-Hakim,” replacing the leader close to Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, “Yusef Al-Madani,” who was sanctioned by the US Treasury. Next to the Chief of Staff of the Houthis, Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Ghamari.
The sources stated that the militias removed Al-Madani from the fronts of Ma'rib, in preparation for his liquidation, along with Al-Ghamari, as they did before with the leader and intelligence officer in the ranks of the Houthis, Sultan Saleh Zaben, after US sanctions were imposed on him in December 2020, after his involvement in the arrest and detention The arbitrary torture and rape of women with the purpose of targeting activists who oppose the Houthis. "His death was announced with the official in charge of the women's prison, Afrah Al-Harazi, under mysterious circumstances.
In December 2020, the US Treasury included Zaben, along with 4 Houthi leaders who lead the intelligence services in Sanaa, on the sanctions list, after collecting documented evidence of their terrorist role in crimes and destabilizing Yemen.
According to the sources, the militias are liquidating their leaders who are imposing US sanctions on them, to draw close to the American authorities, and to improve their image with them, as it is expected that the death of Al-Madani and Al-Ghamari, with a terminal illness, will be announced, as it did before with Zaben, Al-Harazi and Zakaria Al-Shami.
It is noteworthy that, during the past few days, the militias have pushed massive reinforcements to the fronts in the vicinity of Ma'rib, coming through the Nehm outpost and from the Khawlan side.
On Friday, activists on social media circulated a picture of the Houthi leader, Abu Ali Al-Hakim, with leaders of his group on the fronts in the vicinity of Marib, in a clear message that Al-Madani was excluded from leading those fronts.
