The Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps Management in the Marib Governorate revealed a great need for food security in the governorate, accusing the World Food Program of neglecting to disburse food rations for the displaced and needy for the past two months.
According to an official document issued by the executive unit, the World Food Program office in the governorate was accused of ignoring its appeals and official speeches to spend the monthly food rations for the months of March and April.
The document directed to the director of the city of Marib indicated that the governorate of Ma'rib suffers a great need for food security in light of the continuing large displacement to the governorate.
Referring to the displacement of more than 18 thousand families since March 2020, most of them were registered in the lists of the program in their previous camps, and the program office dropped them from the exchange statements after their displacement by the Houthi militia.
She explained that it was addressed and meetings were held with the United Nations Program Office, which opened in the governorate in mid-2020 AD, and it was found that it is without powers, as it is still receiving instructions from their office in Sana'a, which is controlled by the Houthi militia.
The Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons Camps in Ma'rib governorate held the responsibility for delaying the distribution of food rations to the beneficiaries, the implementing partner (it did not name it) and the United Nations program, hoping that the UN program would solve the disbursement problem as soon as possible.
