Later today, Wednesday, the UAE will host the emergency conference of the Arab Parliamentary Union, to discuss the situation in Alquds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The meeting is held virtually, and includes speeches and interventions by heads and representatives of Arab councils and parliaments. It will issue a final statement to the heads of Arab parliaments regarding the ongoing escalation in Alquds and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The meeting coincides with a second extraordinary session of the UN Security Council on the Israeli escalation in alquds and the mutual attacks with Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip.
The new closed session will be held at the request of Tunisia, Norway and China.
The first meeting of the Council held on Monday ended with Tunisia’s request, without any joint declaration issued by the Council, as the United States refused "at this stage" from adopting a draft statement proposed by Norway.
