Aden, NewsYemen:

Republican Senator Bill Hagerty called on Monday, US President Joe Biden to re-impose sanctions on the Houthi militia in Yemen, warning that the Iranian regime's reaction after the lifting of sanctions is to deepen wars in the Middle East.

Hagerty said in a tweet on Twitter that Biden has lifted the sanctions on the Houthis and wants to lift the sanctions on the Iranian regime itself, "adding:" How does the mullahs respond?  By fueling wars. "

He added  "the American forces intercepted a huge Iranian arms shipment destined for the Houthis ... Biden must re-apply maximum pressure now. "

In the context, Democratic Senator Chris Murphy warned against continuing the conflict in Yemen and the deepening of the Iranian role. Commenting on the seized weapons shipment in the Arabian Sea, he said in a tweet, "The longer this war lasts, the closer the Iranians and the Houthis will and the greater the role Iran plays in the future of Yemen," adding that he  "Time for a ceasefire."

A few days ago, the US Navy's Fifth Fleet confiscated a "massive" Iranian arms shipment from a dhow in international waters in the northern Arabian Sea, on its way to the Houthi militia in Yemen.

The shipment included dozens of Russian-made anti-tank guided missiles, thousands of Chinese Type 56 assault rifles, hundreds of PKM machine guns, sniper rifles and rocket launchers.

A US Defense Department official said that the initial investigation of the Navy found that the ship came from Iran, which linked Tehran again to arming the Houthis despite the United Nations arms embargo.

While controlling the arms shipment, Republican US Senator Tom Cotton accused Iran of fueling the conflict in Yemen by continuing to smuggle weapons to the Houthi militia.

Cotton said in a tweet on his Twitter account that the US Navy seized another shipment of Iranian weapons destined for Yemen is not a surprise, because Tehran has sought to fuel the war there in Yemen since 2013.
