Aden, NewsYemen:

The governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamid Lamlas, held a meeting, on Tuesday, with the Deputy Director General of the Aden Refineries Company, and a number of departmental directors and heads of sectors at the refinery.

This came during a visit by the governor to Malas to the company's headquarters, in the Buraiqa District, accompanied by Major General Mutahar Ali Naji, Director General of Aden Police.

The governor heard from Eng. Saeed Muhammad bin Mohammed, deputy director of Aden Refineries, to the most prominent problems facing the company, which caused the absence of its national role and hindered it from performing the tasks it is supposed to perform.

In a speech during the meeting, Lamlas stressed the economic value that the refinery represents for Aden and the country as a whole, indicating that for several reasons it abandoned its economic role that it had been playing until recently.

He touched on the important role that the refinery is supposed to play, especially at this stage that requires concerted efforts and unification for the sake of the citizen who expects a lot from us.

He added: "Work is a collective responsibility, and the refinery is a central facility, but our responsibility as an authority and your responsibility as its leaders lies in its rebirth and turning its torch back to glow, and the return of the wheel of work in it. Today we are experiencing an electricity crisis and an asphalt crisis, where road projects are stopped due to the lack of this article. He wants the refinery flame to go out. He wants to kill Aden and her people. "

The governor of Aden continued, saying: "You fought and sacrificed for Aden in 2015, and today you must continue the struggle, and we are your soldiers to resist all attempts to kill the refinery and its great role."

He went on to say: "We came to you today asking you and looking for solutions from you for your experience and your competence to help us overcome the problem of supplying electricity with fuel. The street today is boiling over and has every right to do so, so we want the refinery to return to its previous state, as silence about the status quo is unacceptable." And if someone wants Aden to live in the midst of this suffering, then we and all of its children will not be satisfied with that. "

The meeting discussed a group of strategic solutions that ensure non-recurrence of crises and manage them with modern work mechanisms, in addition to a set of proposals to ensure the operation of the refinery and the return of its activity.

In addition, the governor of the capital, Aden, directed not to allow construction on the refinery's campus and promised to remove any innovations or construction works at the site.

In the context of the visit, the Governor "Lamlas" visited the project of constructing the power plant and got acquainted with the Chinese experts on the progress of work and the level of completion of the project.
