Aden, NewsYemen:

A day after his disappearance and conflicting information about his fate, it was announced that Brigadier General Abdul-Ghani Shaalan, commander of the Special Security Forces, had been martyred in Marib, during the fiercest battles ever witnessed yesterday (Friday) in the Al-Balq area, west of the governorate.

Yesterday, Friday, military sources reported to "NewsYemen", the commander of the Special Security Forces, which is the force most supported by the Brotherhood authority in Marib, who fought strong battles in "Balk", but the sources denied confirming the news of his death or his capture.

Later, other sources confirmed the martyrdom of Brigadier General Shaalan, as he advanced the ranks, in Friday's battles with the Houthi militia in the tribal mountain of Balk, overlooking the Ma'rib Dam.

Mystery surrounds the fate of the body of the commander of the Special Security Forces, amid speculation that the Houthi militia kidnapped the body and transported it to Sana'a, which is under its control.
