The Minister of Transport cancels Al-Jabwani's illegal decision to subordinate land ports to the Ministry's office

The Minister of Transport in the legitimate government, Dr. Abd al-Salam Hamid, issued a ministerial decision canceling an illegal decision by former Minister Saleh al-Jabwani, to subordinate land ports to the Ministry’s General Office.

Government sources said that Minister Hamid issued Decision No. (16) for the year 2021 AD regarding the cancellation of a previous Ministerial Resolution No. (16) for the year 2018 AD regarding the subordination of land ports to the Ministry's General Office for violating the Republican Decree No. (291) of 2008 establishing the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs and the decision.  Republic No. (174) for the year 2009 AD regarding the regulation of land port affairs and the laws in force.

According to the sources, the subordination of the land ports has reverted to the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs in accordance with the law and regulations governing the establishment of the authority.

The Minister of Transport’s decision stipulated the transfer of revenues in land ports to the account of the General Authority for Regulating Land Transport Affairs at the Central Bank of Yemen, and also stipulated that the Chairman of the Authority undertake the necessary executive procedures to implement this decision and prepare a financial budget for land ports in accordance with the law.

This decision comes in implementation of the general government program devoted to structural reforms and strengthening the institutional structure of state institutions and what is required by the public interest.


It is noteworthy that this decision had previously aroused widespread indignation during its issuance in 2018 by the former Minister of Transport for his violation of the law and the consequent structural damages to the General Authority for the Regulation of Land Transport Affairs financially, administratively and technically.  Former minister.
