NewsYemen, Al Ain, UAE:

With white beards covered with the sand of "the land of Balqis", the "Kings of Sheba" are racing to wage a new epic in defense of the Arab ancestral stronghold against the Iranian-backed Houthi attacks.

During the 6 years of the Houthi coup, “Marib” was subjected to 3 Houthi ground campaigns with its broad military concept, the first was on March 10, 2015, and the second in early 2020, and the third, the largest, began on February 7, and all failed to reach the city.

The tribes of Ma'rib valiantly deal with the Houthi attacks

This is due to the tribes of the governorate (175 kilometers east of Sanaa), which have an original tradition and Yemeni, Arab and Islamic identity, which put political and party affiliations aside, as the most important factor in their effective cohesion against the fiercest military campaigns of the Houthi militia.

Houthi terrorism achieved nothing more than strengthening the cohesion of the five main tribes of Ma'rib, particularly the two large “Murad” and “Ubaidah” tribes, in addition to “Al-Jadaan”, “Bani Abd” and “Bani Jabr” to counter the “Iranian invasion against the cradle of the Arabs.”  Described by its top leaders.

The tribes of Ma'rib are a historical enemy of the ancient Houthi dynasty, and it describes its men as "devoted strength and great strength" as mentioned in the Holy Quran, as their land "the land of Sheba" summarizes an important period in the history of Yemen and the civilization of Arabs and Islam as the cradle of the tribes that spread in the eastern African coast and the Asian east following an incident  Collapse of the Ma'rib Dam in 580 AD.

In spite of the Houthi militia’s superiority in the human numbers that push it to Marib, the tribes ’practice of fighting since their tribal positions for mobilization in 2015 contributed to crushing the coup’s attacks, to stand as an impenetrable human dam in the north, west and south in more than 10 axes in which the battles take place.

The battle of Ma'rib, on the Yemeni, Arab and international levels, is seen to be truly "decisive" and has a great impact on the country's political future. The Houthis commit suicide for the third week in the campaign to overrun the oil province, and they have suffered the most material and human losses and did not achieve any significant progress.

Resilience exposes lethargy

In the Sarawat Mountains, Al-Kassarat and Ramlet Al-Saba'in desert, from Rahba and Murad in the south to Sarwah in the west, Madghal and Majzar in the north, and even Al-Alam in Al-Jawf in the east, the "tribes of Ma'rib" are lining up, defending their ancient history in an existential battle led by the elderly and the elders, and always chanting "We broke his noes"

The residents of the capital of Sheba faced all the waves of the Houthi militia firmly in the Temple of the Sun in the heart of the desert, offering their souls and their children as a sacrifice for the land of the Arab ancestors, which since the Houthi coup has remained a platform for the coalition to support legitimacy to liberate Sanaa and the far north of Yemen.

During the past two weeks only, many tribal sheikhs and dignitaries were martyred, headed by Sheikh Saleh bin Salem bin Jaber al-Ubaidi, Ghaleb bin Nasser al-Ajda, Abd al-Wali Abd al-Rab al-Hayashi, Muhammad bin Ahmed al-Basha, and Humam Salem al-Tayyabi, in a clear indication of the ferocity of the battle  The third major.

The sacrifices of the Ma'ribis are evident from Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser al-Ajda, who offered 5 of his sons before joining them as a martyr last March, in addition to Sheikh “Major General Mufreh Baheeh Al-Mouradi,” who presented 5 sons, and is still leading a strike force for the army and his tribe in the southern axis of the governorate  Instead of fronts penetrating into the heart of Al-Bayda and the outskirts of Shabwa.

The sacrifices of the tribes sparked a widespread debate in the Yemeni street regarding the Yemeni Brotherhood’s use of the governorate as an area of influence and power, as activists on the communication sites considered it to reveal one of the chapters of the Brotherhood’s opportunism, corruption and negligence, especially after the handover of Al-Jawf, Nihm and Al-Bayda, which made it easy for the Houthis to ignite most of the borders of Marib last year.

A military source told Al-Ain Al-Akhbar that the Saudi-led coalition to support legitimacy in Yemen had strengthened its military arsenal in “Marib” in the past two days, which is considered a “red line,” and the internationally recognized government, tribes and the rest of the anti-Houthi components were mobilized to support the tribes and the Yemeni army there.

While the coup militias are still pushing their largest combat regiments, as most of their war attacks during the past weeks have focused on the western axis in the "Sarwah" district, in which the "Jahm tribe" and the general Bani Jabr are linked to the Yemeni army, defending their lands and homes.

In the northwest, where the areas of the “Al-Jadaan” tribe scattered in 3 districts of “Majzar”, “Medghal”, and “Raghwan” share the same fate with the “Bani Abd” tribe, which participates in Al-Jadaan and spreads its men in the “Al-Abdiya” district in the south to defend its land  over there.

And it seems that the Houthis are trying to intensify the attack on these two axes, considering the human reservoir of the homeland of these 3 tribes is less than the two tribes, "Murad" and "Ubaida", which actually terrify the militias, in addition to its proximity to the administrative center of Marib (20-30 km to the west).

Despite the Houthi penetration of southern Marib last year, the battle there quickly turned into a black hole of attrition for his fighters, and the "Murad" tribe, which has the greatest military weight in the Yemeni army, continues to inflict the coup d'etat hardest defeats in defense of its stronghold in the south and southwest.

Murad is considered the historical enemy of the Hashemite dynasty that ruled Yemen for intermittent decades and the Houthis are descended from it, as the tribe still boasts to this day and commemorates its leader Sheikh Ali bin Nasser al-Qarda'i, who killed the 1948 Zaidi Imam Yahya Hamid al-Din, the ruler of North Yemen at the time.

"Murad" owns the largest population in Marib and resides in 5 districts: "Rahba", "Mahliya", "Harib", "Al-Jouba" and "Jabal Murad", and is a strong center of influence for the General People's Congress Party.

A Yemeni tribal source told Al-Ain Al-Akhbar that the tribal leader, Al-Moradi Abdul Wahid Namran, head of the Congress Party in Marib, established an operation room in the past two days to communicate with the sheikhs of the Hamadan tribes (Hashid and Bakil) to prevent their children from being thrown with the Houthis into open burning.

To the east and north, where the oil fields are Safer, the "Ubaidah" tribe, which has the greatest geographical weight in the governorate, is the center of the Islah party presence in Marib, but it puts that aside and is already defending its tribal identity in the battles with the flag and the desert border with Al-Jawf.

The "tribes of Ma'rib", Sima Murad and Ubaidah of the Shafi'i school, have been for hundreds of years outside the influence of the Zaydi imams and the Ottoman occupation, and the terrorist Al Qaeda organization has failed to penetrate its tribal blocs and over the past 6 years of incessant battles with the Houthis supported by Iran.  I practiced a constant state of awakening in an existential and historical battle.

The cradle of the Arabs is in danger

Despite the solid cohesion of the tribes, there is an imminent danger surrounding the city of Marib, which the Houthis are marching towards and the militias are placing all their military weight as a fateful battle in front of any future negotiations, according to experts.

The former commander of the Decisive Brigade and the chief preparatory of the Federation of Yemeni Tribes Alliance, Brigadier General Faisal Al-Shaouri, said that the attempt of the Houthi militia to invade the administrative center of Ma'rib and all its geographic borders is not the first, but it is "the most dangerous", as the putschists throw all their weight, promises, weapons and plots in order to encircle, suffocate and control it.

The Yemeni leader explained in a statement to Al-Ain Al-Akhbar that Marib, as is its custom with its men, youth, sheikhs, history, civilization and army dispersed the masses of the revolutionaries and inflicted heavy human and material losses on them.

He added, "It is true that the danger is imminent and the distances to the provincial capital are near, but it will be exorbitant and costly."

To learn more about the scenario of the Marib Al-Houthi attack, it is leading a military, political, diplomatic and popular movement, and each movement has its own details, and it is a broad scheme that is under the eyes of the United Nations unless the legitimacy and the coalition intervene to confront it, according to Al-Shaouri.

With regard to the military attack, according to the military and tribal expert, it aims to suffocate Marib through "Sirwah" and reach the nearest distance from the city center. The danger is approaching as the fighting moves to the town of Al-Zour, on the vital line to the west, linking the cities of Ma'rib and Sarwah.

In the northwest, militias are targeting to overrun "Mas" and "Ragwan" and advance to the end of "Al-Kasarat" on the vital line linking Ma'rib and Sana'a, which is close to the heart of the city of Marib.

To the north and east in the "Al-Alam" fronts, which the militia seeks to control the oil fields of Safer, reaching "Al-Ruwaik" and "Al-Abr" to cut the line leading to Hadramout and to Saudi territory through the international Al-Wadiah crossing, according to Brigadier General Al-Shaouri.

In the south, the Yemeni leader added, in an interview with Al-Ain Al-Akhbariya, that the scope of the battle is still in Al-Jawba and Jabal Murad, where the powerful Murad tribe is still fighting fierce battles, as the coup militia is trying to reach Al-Jouba and cut the Shabwa and Marib line.
