Mokha, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Today, Monday, the International Organization for Migration granted Al-Mokha Hospital the PCR device for checking the Coronavirus, as the first device to screen for the virus in West Coast directorates.

The Secretary-General of the Local Council, Ansi Qasim, on behalf of the sons of Mocha, thanked the Immigration Organization for providing this device that serves the citizens in 8 coastal directorates.

He stressed that the presence of the device in the city of Mokha allows organizing an examination for any arrivals from outside Yemen through the western coasts, to diagnose the situation and take the necessary measures to ensure that he is free of the virus.

The Director of the Health Bureau, Dr. Samiha Zayed, said that the presence of the device is considered an important and necessary thing, even if the number of Coronavirus infections in the world has decreased, we do not know the genetic mutations of the virus or new mutations that may appear on them in the future.

She added, that the device will provide a solution to a major problem related to knowing and examining the virus directly for suspected cases of the virus.

For his part, the director of the hospital, Dr. Nasr Askar, said that it is now possible to conduct examinations for suspected cases directly, without the need to send the swabs to the governorates of Aden or Taiz, because delaying them causes the results not to appear properly.

Askar added that travelers who want to do tests to ensure that they are not infected with viruses can now take them in the city of Mocha.

He explained, that the device provides multiple scanning functions that are not limited to the Corona virus only, but several types of viruses in addition to T.B

He confirmed that he made a great effort to obtain the device, and it took weeks of follow-up until it was obtained.

The cost of the device, which was placed in the Center for Fevers, Pulmonary Resuscitation and Isolation, is thousands of dollars.

On Tuesday, laboratory personnel are expected to begin training on how to use the device.
