The US administration has criticized the Houthi group - the Iranian arm in Yemen - continuing its attacks on civilians in Yemen and Saudi Arabia, calling for the necessity to stop the conflict "immediately".
The US State Department said, in a statement on its website on Sunday, that "at a time when President (Joe Biden) is taking steps to end the war in Yemen and Saudi Arabia accepts an agreement, the United States is deeply concerned about the ongoing Houthi attacks."
Washington called on the Houthi militia "to immediately stop the attacks that affect civilians in the Saudi regions and to refrain from launching any new military operations inside Yemen that would bring more suffering to the Yemeni people."
"We urge the Houthis to step back from any destabilizing behavior and to show their commitment to constructive dialogue with the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen (Martin) Griffiths to bring peace," she added.
This statement came after the Arab coalition shot down a drone launched by the Houthis towards Saudi Arabia and attacks with a ballistic missile and a drone on the targets of the city of Marib.
