Just hours after the launch of the biggest Twitter campaign, Hashag #HouthiTerrorismInYemen the global trend, in support of the U.S. decision, the group was designated a terrorist organization.
The number of tweets on hashtag #الحوثي_منظمة_إرهابية in both Arabic and English, reached 170,000 hours after the launch of the campaign, which was attended by thousands of Yemenis, with the aim of exposing the shocking Houthi criminal record.
On Sunday evening, a wide-ranging twitter campaign was launched on social media in support of the inclusion of the Houthi group on the U.S. blacklist of terrorist organizations.
Thousands of Yemenis who have posted stories, videos, and videos from a shocking record of abuses that have documented Houthi militia crimes against civilians since the invasion of Sanaa and the outbreak of war with Iranian support in late 2014 participated in the campaign.
The campaign aimed to highlight strong support from the Yemeni community for Washington's decision to designate the Houthis as a terrorist organization while calling on the rest of the world to take similar positions on the Houthi terrorist group.
Yemeni immigrants also denounced the attitude of some international humanitarian organizations operating in the country, toward the U.S. decision, and accused them of using the humanitarian crisis as a pretext to identify with Houthi terrorism, and called for not allowing the Houthis to use food as a weapon, because it will not help alleviate the suffering of Yemenis.
