Marib, Newsymen:

Al-Houthi militia abducted citizens, including a child, and forced residents to move from their homes in areas under their control in Rahba district in southern Marib province.

Over the past week, Houthi gunmen raided houses in the Al-Ushal and Abeyeh area, abducting five civilians, including a 13-year-old boy, and taking them to an unknown destination, local residents said.

They added that the Houthi militia, which is a terrorist group, forced the families (who were sentenced by the circumstances to remain in their areas of control) to leave forcibly, amid panic among women and children.

The human rights organization H O O condemned the violence perpetrated by the Armed Houthi group against civilians in areas under its control in The Rahba district, abducting them, raiding their homes and forcibly displacing them.

These practices were considered crimes against humanity and one of the six violations of children, noting that a number of child abductions have been monitored since September 2020 by Houthi militants in the Najd area of the same directorate.

In a statement issued on Friday, the human rights group called on the media and human rights defenders to do their duty to carry out their duty to carry out their duties against these crimes and acts of terrorism.

The United Nations and its envoy to Yemen have called for pressure on the Houthi armed group to stop its systematic war on civilians in its areas of control and elsewhere in Marib province.

International and local human rights organizations have also called for an investigation into such incidents, practices and violations against civilians, especially women and children, and the international community to carry out its duty to the children of Marib.
