The Brotherhood-affiliated merchant and deputy director of the presidential office, Ahmed Al-Eisi, inaugurated the entry of shipments of smuggled Iranian oil through the historic "Qena" marina in the Radoum district in Shabwa governorate, southeastern Yemen.
The move came days after the pro-group Shabwa governor appeared, inaugurating the port of "Qena", which lacks the simplest elements of the port, in a move that provoked widespread ridicule among Yemenis, and strengthened the hypothesis of the Brotherhood's intention to use the berth as a free window for smuggling oil and weapons.
Later, activists circulated on social media platforms, pictures showing commercial ships belonging to Al-Eisi, anchored at sea off "Qena" and unloading the fuel directly into medium-trailer tanks, which in turn transported it to the black market in Shabwa.
On the other hand, fuel prices, especially "petroleum", increased in Shabwa governorate, with the arrival of smuggled oil, where a gallon of 20 liters is sold for 8 thousand riyals, an increase of 2000 riyals over the official price.
The Muslim Brotherhood seeks, through allegations of activating the historic port of "Qena", to justify the entry of smuggled fuel and weapons shipments into Shabwa governorate and the neighboring governorates.
Ahmed Al-Eisei took advantage of his position in the office of the Presidency of the Republic to illegally acquire the historic "Qena" marina in Shabwa, and benefit from it financially through oil smuggling operations.
Al-Eisi began the plan to acquire the port by sending a fictitious company called (UZY) that does not have any commercial activity in Yemen or in any other country, to sign a fictitious contract also with “Ibn Adiu” in preparation for using Qena as an outlet for smuggling operations.
