The Specialized Criminal Prosecution Office was absent from attending the trial session of the defendants in the case of the assassination of the martyr leader Adnan Al-Hammadi, in addition to the failure to bring the defendants to appear before the court judge for the fifth time.
The secretary of the court justified, in clarifying the lack of presence of the prosecution, that the former public prosecutor, who had been ousted, prevented the prosecution from attending upon a notice from the Supreme Judicial Council, according to the testimony of a member of the prosecution who came to the court and apologized for the pleading.
The decisions of the President of the Specialized Criminal Court included obligating the President of the Republic to form a Higher Judicial Council to carry out its duties to the fullest, and to provide the necessary protection for judges and the prosecution.
A legal source said that the decisions of the head of the specialized court and the secretary’s talk about holding the former public prosecutor responsible for preventing the prosecution from pleading, is intended to employ the assassination case of Commander Adnan Al-Hammadi to justify violations of the decision to appoint a new public prosecutor and an attempt to justify upcoming decisions targeting the judiciary.
The source pointed out that the inclusion of the session minutes signed by the President of the Criminal Court accusing the lawyer of one of the accused to the former Attorney General of obstructing justice and justifying the decision to remove him, as the lawyer said, an emphasis on setting the case for purposes outside its course and bypassing it that serves the continuation of tampering with the case, and the passage of future decisions aimed at the independence of the judiciary.
