Aden, NewsYemen:

The US Secretary of State announced that President Donald Trump's government will inform the US Congress on Monday that it has designated the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization.

Secretary Pompeo wrote on the ministry's official page on Twitter: The aim of the resolution is "to deter Houthi terrorist activities," as it is "malign Iranian activity in the region."

American press sources said that the terrorist attempt by Al-Houthi to assassinate the Yemeni government through missiles that targeted Aden airport, was the last evidence that prompted the issuance of the decision.

The US State Department began its efforts to classify Al-Houthi, the Iranian arm, as a terrorist organization six months ago.

The Iranian ruler in Sanaa, Hassan Irloo, said last week that “Yemen has become a spearhead in the resistance project,” which he said had avenged the killing of Qassem Soleimani by “intensifying attacks against Saudi Arabia,” saying that the state of Imam Khamenei decided that revenge for Soleimani is “by taking out American forces from the region. ”
