Aden, NewsYemen:

On Wednesday, the Arab coalition shot down an explosive drone launched by the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, towards Saudi Arabia, the second within 48 hours.

The spokesman for the coalition forces, Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that "the joint coalition forces were able this morning (Wednesday) to intercept and destroy an explosive drone launched by the terrorist Houthi militia in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilian objects and civilians in the southern region" in Saudi Arabia.

On Monday, the coalition announced the interception of a drone launched by the Houthi militia towards Saudi Arabia.

He pointed out that the Houthi militia continues to intentionally target civilians.

He stressed that the necessary measures be taken to neutralize and destroy the Houthis' qualitative capabilities.

The Houthi militia has recently intensified the use of explosive and reconnaissance drones, which the United Nations Committee of Experts said, earlier, that it was assembled from components from an external source and shipped to Yemen.

The report of the United Nations experts charged with monitoring the arms embargo imposed on Yemen since 2015 stated that the Houthi militia acquired new weapons in 2019, some of which have characteristics similar to those produced in Iran.

The report, which was sent to the Security Council, said that "in addition to the known weapons systems they had so far, (the Houthis) are now using a new type of Delta drones and a new model of land cruise missiles."
