Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The Public Funds Prosecution Office in Marib Governorate has begun investigating a complaint by Mohtasebeen lawyers against the governorate cashiers association accusing them of committing financial crimes.

The lawyers ’report accused money-changing shops, institutions and banking companies in the governorate of" committing financial crimes to harm the national economy, collapse the local currency, and impose large sums of money in exchange for "transfer service" to exploit the needs of citizens.

The lawyers demanded that the whistleblower be seized against them and that their institutions, companies, stores, and money be seized, investigated with the facts, and referred to trial in a manner that would ensure the legally prescribed punishment and protect the national economy and the national currency from collapse.

They also demanded, in their communication, to "compensate any citizen who suffered material and moral damages, including obligating the whistleblower against them to return the money that they had deducted from citizens unlawfully."

The national currency in the liberated areas is witnessing an unprecedented collapse in front of foreign currencies, as the rate of the riyal recorded 889 to the dollar, while the Saudi riyal reached 233, and the fees for remittances from the Houthi-controlled areas rose to more than 50% of the transfer amount.
