The Houthi militia in the Ministry of Education in Sana'a issued a decision prohibiting the educational and educational leaderships at the level of the ministry, institutions, agencies and centers affiliated to it and education offices in the governorates and districts to establish or partner in establishing, owning and opening private schools, directly or indirectly.
The decision, in its second article, stipulates referring “everyone who is proven to own or participate in the ownership of a private or private school” to legal accountability, and all legal measures shall be taken against him.
The decision of the Iranian arm in Yemen, issued on November 14, raised questions from workers in the education sector.
According to sources in the Ministry of Education in Sana'a who spoke to (NewsYemen), 90% of the owners of private schools are mainly affiliates of the Ministry of Education, and therefore the decision is either improvised and ill-considered, or a prelude to confiscating and plundering people's private rights and properties in the educational sector.
Workers in the education sector said, "The executive regulations for private education stipulate that educators have priority in establishing private schools."
The source who spoke with NewsYemen said, “If the administration of private schools is not at the core of the tasks and specializations of educators, and it is their field of work ... who will be in charge of managing the schools? Qat sellers?
The owner of a private school in Sanaa described the decision as improvised and wrong, and said that it contradicts reality, reason and logic, and added, commenting on the decision to ban educators ’management of private schools:“ Imagine that the Ministry of Health issues a decision prohibiting doctors from opening clinics and private hospitals .. Is that possible ?! ”
