A security source said that the Security Belt forces foiled the smuggling of weapons to the Brotherhood militia, across the coastal strip in the Ahwar district in Abyan governorate, south of Yemen on Saturday.

The source said that the Rapid Intervention Forces in the Security Belt set up a tight ambush in the Fort Belaid area of Ahwar district, for militants from the Brotherhood militia while they were trying to smuggle weapons on board boats there.

He explained that clashes broke out between the two sides, resulting in the death of three smugglers, who hail from the governorates of Shabwa and Marib, while the commander of the rapid intervention in the Ahwar sector, Ali Al-Habati, was moderately wounded.

The Brotherhood militia, stationed in the coastal district of Shuqra, has been smuggling heavy and medium weapons across the sea by smuggling boats.
