Salem Thabet Al-Awlaqi, a member of the Presidency in the Southern Transitional Council, said, “Sanaa is no longer a real target for the Yemeni Brotherhood and the rest of the forces,” adding that “the battle for Sanaa no longer has any sovereign symbolism.”
Al-Awlaqi said, in a tweet on his Twitter account, that "the north is the one that separated from the south, with the Houthi militia controlling it and imposing a fait accompli that has not changed in six years."
He added, "Sanaa is no longer a true target for the Yemeni Brotherhood and the rest of the forces, and the battle for Sanaa has ceased to have any symbolic sovereignty."
The southern leader concluded by saying: "The talk about republic and unity is now just a struggle and tampering with the south and the loss of the full-fledged elements of the north."
