Taiz, Newsyemen:

Extensive condemnation of the death threat to the photojournalist Nayef Al-Wafi, by the Brotherhood's officer in the 22nd Brigade, Mika Muhammad al-Ramsi, who stormed a women's park on Sunday morning, and al-Wafi published the break-in photos.

Journalists and social media activists have condemned the threat, calling for his dismissal and trial.

All the condemnations that were published, held Al-Ramsi responsible for what Al-Wafi may face.

Al-Wafi had said in a communication on his Facebook page, to the Journalists Syndicate and the security authorities, "Muhammad al-Ramsi called and threatened to kill me, because of my writing about the storming of the water park, and he insulted me and my family with obscene words, and threatened everyone who writes about him, with death."

Commenting on the incident, journalist Ahmed Al-Basha said, "This ugly example is the one that offends the sacrifices of men on the fronts, those who left their children and their homes to protect people and their property."

He added, in a post on his Facebook page: "The leadership of the axis is required to discipline him and stop the bullying he is practicing against civilians, which has been repeated a lot."

The Media Freedom Observatory in Yemen said that it received a communication from the photojournalist Naif Al-Wafi, in which he reported that he had been threatened with death by Muhammad al-Ramsi, one of the officers of the 22nd Brigade Mika in Taiz, against the background of writing about the issue of his storming and escorting of the water park located in Al-Majaliah area below Jabal Sabr.

The Observatory of Liberties condemned these arbitrary practices against journalists aimed of restricting the freedoms of opinion and expression, and held the security authorities in the governorate fully responsible for the life and safety of photojournalist Naif Al-Wafi.

The observatory called for the speedy investigation of the case, the punishment of perpetrators, the end of all forms of repression and abuse, and the policy of hostility against journalists and media professionals.
