Al-Zubaidi to Griffiths: Forming a 50/50 government is a priority to solve the southern crisis

The head of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, said that the Riyadh agreement has become a real starting point towards peace in Yemen, pointing out that the formation of a new, equal-competency government is a priority to start any real progress towards the solution.
This came, on Tuesday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, during his meeting with the United Nations Secretary General's Special Envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths.
According to a statement posted by the transitional council on its website, this meeting came in light of the continued intensive discussions sponsored by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to implement the Riyadh agreement, explaining that during the meeting, efforts to calm and cease-fire, confidence-building measures and the humanitarian file were discussed, leading to the political process that The envoy is seeking to launch it.
According to the statement, Al-Zubaidi stressed the Transitional Council's support for the efforts of the UN envoy, expressing the Council's readiness to engage seriously in all stages of the United Nations-sponsored political process.
