A training course to raise awareness in the field of plant and animal production in the coastal districts

On Monday, a training course for agricultural extension workers was held in Al-Mocha Directorate to educate farmers in the field of plant and animal production in the districts of the West Coast of Al-Mocha, with a door, distributor, and Al-Wazieyah.
The five-day course, supported by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), aims to provide participants with ways to educate the family on how to benefit from the support provided in the distribution of plant and animal materials, such as improved seeds, fodder, livestock and poultry.
Ahmed Abbas, head of the services department in the local council, stressed the importance of the course, which would help in transferring knowledge and information to the beneficiaries in the fields of plant and agricultural production.
Abbas called on the participants to educate the beneficiaries, in order to maintain the sustainability and continuity of these projects aimed at improving family income.
For his part, the director of the Agriculture Office in Mocha Thabet Al-Hamili said that the program that you seek to implement "FAO" after the end of the session will benefit 1500 families from families with less income in villages of Al-Jumaah and Mashalha in Mocha.
He added, that the project contains two parts: The first is to distribute feed for families interested in raising livestock and sowing agricultural.
The other part contains the distribution of ten poultry for each family.
He explained that there are criteria according to which families eligible for raising poultry have been identified, as well as families that will cultivate varieties of food on small home farms.
He pointed out that the families that benefit from the distribution of laying hens reach up to 200 families, while the rest of the families will receive animal feed as well as seeds for some food items from cash crops.
