Within the framework of the Qatari role to target legitimacy in Yemen and thwart the role of the Arab coalition in Yemen, Qatar is intensifying its efforts in the media aspects by supporting the pro-islah front represented by the Islah Party - the political arm of the Brotherhood in Yemen - and the Houthi revolutionary group.
In this context, the official broadcast of the “Al-Mahriya” channel supported by Qatar and Oman, which is broadcast from the Turkish city of Istanbul, will be launched, to be the third channel of the Islah Party and supported by Qatar and broadcast from Istanbul after the two Balqis channels managed by the Brotherhood activist Tawakkol Karman and the Yemen Youth channel that he runs Wasim Al-Qurashi, member of the Islah Media Department.
Qatar had previously entrusted the management of the Al-Mehriya channel to the adviser of the Ministry of Information in the legitimate government, Mukhtar Al-Rahbi, who is one of the most prominent men in Qatar within the legitimate government, and whom Qatar assigned them the task of attacking and inciting the Arab coalition in order to thwart its role, as well as the task of rapprochement with the Houthi revolutionaries. In implementation of the Qatar agenda, which is compatible with the Iranian agenda in Yemen.
Sources in the channel spoke that the former deputy governor of Al-Mahrah, Salem Al-Harizi, and the Islah journalist Fahd Al-Muneifi, are among the most prominent leaders who will hold high positions in the channel’s board of directors.
Al-Mehriya TV channel said in a press statement issued last December that its news and program content will address Yemen’s issues from the eastern angle of “skilled and Socotra to all parts of the country.” Al-Mahrah Governorate in eastern Yemen, and against the Saudi presence.
The channel's announcement of its focus on Al-Mahrah and Socotra as a starting point for its political orientation confirms that it was established to implement the agenda of Oman and Qatar aimed at fighting the role of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia, especially after the success of the alliance with military control over the land ports in Al-Mahrah Governorate between Yemen and Amman, which were used as ports for smuggling weapons to the Houthi revolutionaries.
The launch of the Qatari-supported channel comes in conjunction with the disclosure of the existence of a media coordination office between the Houthi group and the Islah party with Qatari support and funding, as the office aims to coordinate media efforts and unify the media discourse of the two parties in facing the role of the Arab coalition in Yemen, especially in the southern governorates of Aden and Mahrah Socotra.
The management of the office consists of six media representatives as representatives of the two parties, so that they manage the media cells of Houthi and Reform in TV channels, news sites and electronic flies on social media.
The Islah Party is represented by Samir Al-Nimri, a reporter for the Qatar-based Al-Jazeera channel, Mane Suleiman, a leader in the Moral Guidance Division in Marb, and Jalal Al-Muslimi, a journalist for the newspaper and the Al-Masdar website. Sari is the undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth for the coup government, and Ahmed El-Sherif is the secretary of the September 26th newspaper of the coupists.
Qatar, in the context of providing media support to the Houthi revolutionaries due to the Arab alliance, has supported and funded the Houthi channel, which is run by journalist Abed Al-Mahdari and broadcasts from Sana'a, where Al-Mahthari is the Houthi representative in the media coordination office between the Houthis and the Islah Party.
The rapprochement between Houthi and Islah was confirmed by leaders of both parties, as the leader of the Houthi group, Muhammad Al-Bakhiti, affirmed the existence of agreements and understandings between the two sides, and Al-Bakhiti also confirmed that an Arab country - in reference to Qatar - asked the Houthis to stop invading Marib, which was one kilometer from them. They responded to this country, which feared the Brotherhood from defeat, as they are allies, he said.
The leader of the Islah party, Sheikh Al-Qabali Al-Hassan bin Ali Abkar, confirmed that the State of Qatar supports the Houthi militia in Yemen against the Yemenis, through an article he published on his Facebook page entitled “A reproach message to the leadership of Qatar, the people of Qatar, the Qatari supporters and those funded by Qatar.”
Abkar asked in his article: What have we done to you in Yemen? Why did you change the wave politically and medialy against legitimacy, resistance and the national army ...?! What is your interest in supporting coup and rebel militias ...?! Why do you take an entire people as an enemy and stand with those who kill him and make him homeless ..?! Then who told you that Yemen is part of the countries of the province?
Abkar stressed the Qatari media has completely changed its positions regarding the war in Yemen, and it has become a first-class supporter of the Houthi militia. Unfortunately, this afflicts all of us, so at least if you are not with us, be neutral.
Abkar addressed the Qataris, saying: We have nothing to do with your differences with your brothers and neighbors, so do not bear our people more than they bear, and do not turn into a pickaxe for demolition in the hand of Iran, and you support its arms that will extend to you today, or tomorrow, as it has extended to others. ” Treat your differences away from us, and leave our people alone. Many of those who looked at you with respect in the past have revenge on you today, because of the change in your policy and exposure, and the rush to harm your brothers in Yemen who did not target you with anything, and you have no direct interest with them, so there are no common borders. No political disputes, nor economic rivalries. ”
Abkar added, “The Houthi enemy today is grunting and expanding with your support, and your information blurs his crimes. We know that you realize what you are making a mistake, but it is the perseverance on falsehood, and choosing the weakest point in the region in an attempt to take revenge on the brothers, without caring that the victim is the Yemeni who was torn by war and crushed by poverty and exhausted the disease".
Abkar continued: "We appeal to you, O our brothers in Qatar, the leadership, the government and the people, to stop supporting the enemies of the Yemeni people, and to return to your senses so that no day will come and we will see Iran and its militias targeting you."
