Al-Hodeidah / Mocha , Newsyemen:

The Houthi militias bombed the dynamite, the headquarters of the Fifth Control Point, located in Citymax, east of the city of Hodeidah.

The attack and the new escalation of the Houthi militia against the United Nations mission that oversees the deployment of the link points to monitor the redeployment and the ceasefire in Hodeidah is a double test for UNMAH and its credibility is at stake.

The bombing of the checkpoint came two days after the liaison officers withdrew from all the checkpoints and the government team announced the suspension of its work in protest against the Houthi militia sniping the liaison officer at the same point.

No position was issued against the UN mission in Hodeidah, while the government team asked it to determine a position on escalation and militia violations.

Liaison officers representing the joint forces suspended their participation and withdrew from the five observation points in the city of Hodeidah, after the Houthi militia, on Wednesday morning, March 11, 2020, targeting the fifth monitoring point in City Max inside the city of Hodeidah, which resulted in the injury of Colonel Mohammed Sharaf Al-Sulayhi, seriously in the head while performing his duties within joint team under the supervision of the United Nations.

Responses and comments issued after the recent developments again condemned the absence and lack of response and the governmental position on the escalation and persistent series of Houthi against the simplest obligations of the Hodeidah agreement, with the exception of the Foreign Ministry statement on Wednesday evening, sympathetic to the government team’s announcement, as it took on the government team and the side of legitimacy, “worn out in begging peace against all violations the attacks, the escalating diaries, and the real war since the disastrous signing of Stockholm, which gave the militias the advantage of acting from the position of the strongest, contrary to the facts of reality and the unjust settlement imposed by the injustice to save the militias that were in the last breath had it not been for the British pressure and actions, egitimacy responses with that and Stockholm Agreement.

The UN envoy, Martin Griffiths, renewed the manipulation of words and avoided referring directly to the Houthi militias and their responsibility to restrict the movement of the United Nations Mission in Hodeidah, contenting with the previous conversation that the mission was restricted in movement.

In his briefing, Griffiths ignored a formal request from the legitimate government one day earlier to outline a position on military escalation, breaches, and Houthi attacks on liaison officers and checkpoints.
