A human rights source revealed that the security authorities affiliated with the Islah Party in Taiz Governorate arrested about 220 people within eight months without any justification or legal action.

According to activist Akram Al-Shawafi, he said in a Twitter Tweet monitored by NewsYemen, that the arrests were carried out according to political motives and elements that oppose the de facto policy of the current authorities, most of whose civilian and military leaders are members of the Islah party.

In the same context, a security source said that the Brotherhood authorities arrested 85 people during the past two weeks, under the pretext of sleeping cells and belonging to different governorates.

The sources indicated that the arrest process took place at the Al-Hanger Center and from the Passports and City Hotels Authority and they were going to cut off the passports.

Brotherhood authorities have accused the detainees of belonging to the Houthi militia and that they are working to destabilize the security situation in the city.
