After the withdrawal of its staff in November 2018, following the targeting of its headquarters by an armed attack, and a number of security incidents, Médecins Sans Frontières has resumed its support for the emergency room and operating room in Al-Nasr Hospital in Al-Dhalea Governorate.
Special sources in the organization said that the hospital needs are many, and the staff are doing their best.
It added, that the health care system in Yemen collapsed as a result of the war, so obtaining the necessary medical treatment became difficult, especially for residents of remote areas such as Al-Dhale' governorate.
According to the source, Mohamed (35 years), one of the injured, says that he was injured in his right knee while trying to move his friend to a safe place, which had also been shot, and caused a severe injury to the kneecap and needed additional operations to recover.
"I see people from my town living in a very difficult situation and I want to help them," as well as those wounded in the war, said Saddam, 30, a volunteer nurse at the hospital.
He added, "Our teams often treat road traffic injuries and communicable diseases such as malaria and dengue fever."
Al-Nasr Hospital is considered the only governmental hospital in the governorate, and it is overwhelmed with the wounded coming from areas close to the fronts, and the patients who cannot find another place to go to.
It is reported that MSF works in 12 hospitals and medical centers in ten governorates in Yemen
