The Emirates supports Al Mukalla Hospital for Motherhood and Childhood with modern equipment and devices

On Tuesday, 10 March, the World Health Organization (WHO) delivered Al Mukalla Maternity and Childhood Hospital in Sahel Hadhramaut with medical equipment and supplies, with support from the United Arab Emirates.


The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Director General of Sahel Hadramout Health, Dr. Riyad Habour Al-Jariri, confirmed that the UAE’s support to Al Mukalla Maternity and Childhood Hospital will contribute to improving the level of hospital services significantly.

 Al-Jariri said, in a statement: This support comes within the framework of an agreement signed by the UAE with the World Health Organization in the Health Office of Sahel Hadhramaut.

 He added, that the equipment included the operating room and intensive care, as well as providing the hospital with modern equipment that will provide better services for patients, children and women.


Dr. Al-Jariri praised the generous and continuous support of the Emirates to Hadramout Governorate in various sectors.


 For his part, Dr. Ali Jaoul, representative of the World Health Organization, said that the support of Al Mukalla Hospital for Motherhood and Childhood comes within their keenness to reduce the death rate among children in Hadramout and the neighboring governorates.


 In turn, she thanked Dr. Abha Abdullah Baowaidan, General Manager of Al Mukalla Maternity and Childhood Hospital, United Arab Emirates, for funding these modern medical equipment for the hospital.


 The United Arab Emirates contributed to the restoration and maintenance of 8 government hospitals and health centers in Hadramout, with a total value of approximately 67 million dirhams.
