On Monday, the military forces, backed by tribesmen, regained control of the Al-Muhashimah area of the Khub and Al-Shaaf district in the Al-Jawf governorate, which borders Saudi Arabia, after fierce battles against the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

Field military sources said that the forces of the northern axis in Al-Jawf launched a major attack on the militia sites, in Wadi al-Muhashmah near Al-Yatma, and engaged in violent confrontations with them.

According to the sources, the forces of the First Brigade, with the support of tribal fighters, were able to completely clear the valley and defeat the Houthi militia from the locations where they had been stationed.

Houthi militias sustained great losses during the confrontations, as dozens of their members were killed and wounded, while a number of others were captured.

The sources pointed out that the commander of the northern axis, Commander of the First Brigade Border Guard, Brigadier General Haikal Hantaf, is leading the battles on the ground, stressing that the army forces are carrying out combing operations to the areas of southern "Al-Yatma".
