Supported by Arab coalition forces, the tribesmen retook the strategic Yatma region, the Directorate of Khub and Al-Shaaf, in the Al-Jawf Governorate, bordering Saudi Arabia, hours after the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, took control of it.

Tribal sources said that the fighters of the Dahm tribes entered the confrontation line with the Houthi militia, after the latter managed (Sunday evening) to control the "orphan" and cut the supply line of government forces to the northern axis.

It added that the tribesmen of "Dhul Muhammad and Dhu Hussain" launched a counter-attack against the Houthis, with heavy air support from the Saudi-led Arab coalition fighters.

Emirati Apache fighters entered the line of operations to support the tribal fighters, and managed to take the initiative, and defeated the Houthi militants, from the positions they had controlled earlier on Sunday, on the outskirts of the Khub and Al-Shaaf district, while the battles continued in Al-Muhashmah.

Tribal fighters loyal to the legitimate government took control of important Jebelah sites and heights on the outskirts of Khub al-Shaaf and cleared strategic locations between the orphan and Muhashmah regions.

Houthi militias sustained great losses during the confrontations, as dozens of their members were killed and wounded, while a number of others were captured.

According to the sources, the army forces of the government of interim President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi and the Islah party did not participate in any role in the process of recovering  "Yatma" from which it had withdrawn.
