The Washington Institute for Near East Studies said that the forces loyal to the Yemeni interim president Abd Rabuh Mansour Hadi and the Islah militia are pumping more forces from Marib to Abyan governorate in southern Yemen
The institute said, in a recent report, that the flow of militia loyal to President Hadi and the Islah party to the Abyan governorate continues, despite the pressure of the Houthi militia on Marib.
The American Institute considered that the war of Hadi militias and reform against the southern forces is one of the reasons for the fall of Nahham, east of Sanaa and Al-Jawf Governorate, in the hands of the Iranian-backed Houthis.
The report stated that government forces retained seven brigades in Shabwa Governorate to deal with the remaining southern forces. It also pumped more of its forces operating in Marib, towards Abyan governorate, another tense frontline with the transitional forces.
The Washington Institute said that this flow to southern areas continued despite the increasing Houthi pressure in Marib and Al-Jawf.
