The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has said that the fighting in Al-Jawf, northern Yemen, has displaced about 70,000 people, or an estimated 10,000 families, to the neighboring Governorate of Marib.
It added, in a statement, that the military escalation of the Houthi militia in Al-Jawf hampered efforts to assist the sick and the needy.
The committee stated that an ambulance of the Yemen Red Crescent Society was unable to perform a medical evacuation due to lack of safe access, and the ICRC was unable to provide Al-Jawf General Hospital with surgical and medical supplies due to the Houthi escalation.
The committee stressed that medical facilities must remain open and never target during military operations, and medical personnel, ambulances and health facilities must be protected.
