The coalition announced early Sunday 8 March 2020 the destruction of military sites and targets for the Houthi militia, in Al-Salif, north of Hodeidah, on the western coast of Yemen.

The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced earlier Sunday dawn the start of a specific operation in North Hodeidah.

While the coalition confirmed the militias continued to violate the Stockholm Agreement and the ceasefire in Al Hodeidah, they declared the destruction of sites to collect, boast and launch booby-trapped boats and march in the area.

They said that the destructive targets posed a threat to maritime navigation and international trade in the Bab al-Mandab strait.

They also asked civilians in al-Salif not to approach the targeted sites, and stressed that the targeting process was in accordance with international humanitarian law.

Newsyemen earlier said that information and monitoring sources renewed the alert to noticeable movements that had recently returned to Houthi militias in the coastal areas north of Hodeidah on the Red Sea, and testimony of suspicions about the Houthis' development of boat warfare technologies with the help of foreign expertise, probably Iranian.

The latest updates of information and monitoring points are drawn - to the multiplication of Houthi militias, movements and developments related to the coasts and the interior areas facing them on both sides of the Sham-Haradh line and its branches (north).

It warned of an increased dependence on elements trained to carry out attacks in the waters, to deal with droning or guided boats and to carry out attacks across the beaches.

Recently, Newsyemen was briefed on statements suggesting the launch of drones in the sea and at a distance from navigation lines, from private boats, south of Midi.

The coalition recently announced that thwarted booby-trapped boat attacks in the southern Red Sea of Houthi militias.

A few days ago, the Minister of Information in the Sharia government, Muammar Al-Iryani, said that "the terrorist attack carried out by the Houthi militia that targeted one of the oil tankers in the Arabian Sea, by four remote-controlled boats and the forces of the Sharia Support Coalition managed to foil it, reminiscent of the wave of terrorist attacks." Implemented by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards against world trade ships and tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

Al-Iryani added, "The thwarting of the attempt to attack commercial ships in the Red Sea, Bab al-Mandab and the Arabian Sea for the second time in less than two weeks confirms the escalation of the Houthi militia for its terrorist activities and the increasing risks and threats to the international navigation movement and global energy security under the Iranian command and planning in revenge for the killing of (the Quds Force Commander of the Revolutionary Guards) Soleimani with an American raid in the vicinity of Baghdad airport at the beginning of last January.
