On Thursday, planes believed to be American flew over the Shabwa governorate, and dropped leaflets against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula similar to the one they gave a day ago to Al Bayda Governorate.

Locals said that helicopters circled for hours in the sky over the three Beihan directorates late in the evening.
They added that the helicopters dropped flyers warning al-Qaeda about the residents and offered a reward for information about the leaders of the organization.

The Shabwah directorates recently witnessed a public appearance of the elements of the organization, especially in Al-Saeed Directorate, a year after they were expelled by the Shabwah Elite Forces.

One of the publications on Beihan included a $ 6 million offer for those who provide information on: al-Qaeda's new leader Khaled Batarfi, and leaders of the organization Saad Atef and Ammar al-Sanani.
The Qayfah district in al-Bayda witnessed a similar flight Wednesday evening, accompanied by leaflets urging residents to provide information about a number of al-Qaeda leaders in exchange for rewards.
Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula admitted at the end of February the killing of its leader, Qasim Al-Rimi, about a month after he was killed by an American drone raid, and pledged allegiance to Khalid Saeed Batarfi (Saudi national) as his successor.
