Aden, Newsyemen:

British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said he hopes to reduce the escalation of the war that has been going on in Yemen for five years, this year.

Raab made these remarks to Reuters in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, after meeting Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Thursday evening at the end of a Middle East tour that included Turkey, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

When asked about the chances of returning to the political track ... Raab said, "I certainly hope so."

"I think that should be the goal," he added.
"And I believe that with the revival of political will on all sides, 2020 could be the year of change for Yemen."

On the other hand, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab described the conflict in Yemen as one of the world's worst man-made humanitarian disasters.
He said in a tweet posted on his Twitter account, that all parties must reduce the escalation sooner and meet at the negotiating table before further unnecessary loss of life.

He noted that he had spoken on these points with President Hadi during his meeting with him in Riyadh on Thursday, and renewed the UK's support for a political solution in Yemen.
