Al-Shariyah District, Al-Bayda Governorate, witnessed an extensive flight of Apache helicopters, which dropped leaflets on the population urging them to provide information about the leaders of Al-Qaeda organization, in exchange for rewarding financial rewards.

US Apache helicopters and Drones planes circled heavily over the Yakla area in Qayfa, late Wednesday night, local sources said.

This is the first appearance of helicopters in the airspace of the region since the American military operation, more than 3 years ago, in which women and children were killed and wounded.

The helicopters delivered leaflets, one of which included a $ 6 million offer, to those who provide information on: Al-Qaeda's new leader, Khaled Batarfi, and leaders of the organization, Saad Atef and Ammar Al-Sanani.

Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula admitted at the end of February, the killing of its leader, Qasim Al-Rimi, and the pledge of allegiance to Khalid Saeed Batarfi (Saudi national) as his successor.

The Yakla region was the scene of a US military operation in January 2017, in which helicopters, reconnaissance planes and dozens of Marines participated, with direct orders from President Donald Trump as soon as he assumed the presidency of the United States.

The operation, which was aimed at eliminating leaders at the base, resulted in villagers victims, including women and children. In return, the Pentagon admitted killing and wounding a number of Marines and destroying one of the helicopters participating in the attack.
