With Yemeni participation .. the opening of the Arab conference on sport and law in Cairo

On Tuesday, 3 March, the "Arab Conference on Sport and Law" was opened in Cairo, in cooperation between the Olympic Committee and the Arab Administrative Development Organization at the League of Arab States.
The first session of the Arab conference was entitled "Managing the settlement of sports disputes between judiciary and arbitration".
This was done in the presence of stakeholders from the Egyptian authorities, a number of sports figures, heads of sports federations, heads of clubs and legal stature from Egypt and a number of Arab personalities, and representatives of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Morocco, Algeria, Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Bahrain, and Iraq.
The conference discussed many points related to arbitration and its relationship to sports, contracts and sports investment, discussing Egypt's experience in sports arbitration, and studying how to create an Arab body for sports arbitration.
The idea of the conference comes to clarify the importance and role of sports law, and the philosophy of sports arbitration; and to emphasize that regulations governing sport are an integral part of sport.
Our country participates in it with a delegation headed by Dr. Azzam Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Raed Ali Noman, General Director of Sports Activity, and Abdullah Muhaim, Director General of Associations and Clubs.
Dr. Azzam Khalifa chaired the second session of the Arab Conference on Sport and Law, which was devoted to the topic of anti-doping and settling disputes.
The conference will end its meetings and activities on Thursday with a visit to some related sports facilities and museums.
