Taiz Governorate Police Director, Brigadier Mansour Al-Akhali, on Tuesday directed the closure of the Passport Office in the governorate, under the pretext of security and military reasons.
A source said that the Director of Security, Brigadier Mansour Al-Akhali, directed the closure of the Immigration and Passports Bureau branch, justifying his decision to preserve the security of the city of Taiz from the danger of cells belonging to the Houthi militia.
The source pointed out that hundreds of people from the governorates of Ibb, Sana'a, Dhamar and Amran are coming to the city of Taiz to extract passports, and the police are afraid of the Houthi militias using the passports as an entry point to enter their cells into the city, and to drop them from the inside.
The Immigration and Passport Office is considered one of the most successful and active government service institutions operating in the city of Taiz since the branch was reopened in mid-October 2017.
