Masam: 140,000 Houthi mines were removed in Yemen

The Saudi Project for Mine Clearance in Yemen announced, "Masam", that 12304 Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance had been removed from the beginning of February 2020 until 20 of the same month.


 In a statement published by the media office, the director of the project, Osama Al-Qosaibi, said that the engineering project teams had removed, during the third week of February, 5528 Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance.


The statement stated that during the past week, the teams removed 288 anti-tank mines and 11 anti-personnel mines, as well as 5228 unexploded ordnance and one explosive device.


 Al-Qosaibi said that the total of what was removed by the pores of teams from the start of the project in late June 2018 and until February 20 this year amounted to 139787, which varied between mines, unexploded ordnance and explosive devices.
