Islah activists and journalists launched an attack on Al-Shari 'daily newspaper headed by its editor, Naif Hassan, against the background of publishing the journalist two weeks ago, news of negotiations between Al-Jawf Governor Amin al-Okimi with Houthi leaders to hand over the province.

After the killing of the son of the governor of Al-Jawf, Sadiq Amin al-Okimi, Thursday evening in confrontations with the Houthi militia, the media god of the Yemeni Brotherhood moved and launched an incitement campaign against the newspaper that it was creating sedition and tearing down the social society.

Islah activists and party leaders circulated a letterhead for a street journalist, and launched a scathing attack against the newspaper, accusing it of Houthi, and that it was working for the Emirates, and was working to split the national ranks, inciting the newspaper and its editors.

"You see: Who is this black newspaper serving?" Wrote Saleh Samie, a Twitter post accompanied by Al-Shari 'newspaper.

In this context, journalists criticized the incitement of Islah and activists for the press, considering that the reform campaign reveals the true face of the Islah Party and that it does not differ from the Iranian Houthi militia, which has worked to suppress the press and journalists since 2014.

Journalist Farouk Kamali, in a post on Twitter, said, "The killing of al-Okimi’s son is being invested to incite against the press.

He added, "Alshari’" published a news story according to its sources, instead of inciting against it, it was expected that the Governor of Al-Jawf would clarify or deny the existence of an agreement or negotiation with the Houthis.

"Freedom is indivisible," wrote journalist Ghamdan Al-Yousifi.

"He who wants freedom of the press can bear all errors and all directions."

He said, "It may not be appropriate for us in Alshari’ newspaper to deal with it, but it is like the rest of the media mistake and afflicts and the victim has one way, which is the judiciary, otherwise there is no difference between us and Houthi."
