The Houthi militia looted the Al-Khaniq camp in Nehm district, east of Sana'a, which is the largest camp in the Republic, after the displaced persons fled from it as a result of the clashes that took place in the areas near the camp.

Sources working in the relief field told Newsymen that the militia transported tents and shelter materials belonging to the camp on Sunday, by trucks to areas in Bani Hashish and Al-Harish.

This comes at a time when the fleeing IDPs lack any shelter in Marib, and the Marib authorities ignore their suffering, except for humanitarian aid from a number of societies.

The attacks by the Houthi militia on the displacement camps in Marib and Nehm in Sanaa governorate forced the displaced people to leave those camps to migrate again to escape the fire of intentional bombing.

Sources working in the relief field said that the recent events caused the displacement of more than 3,500 families from the Majzar district of Marib, while 400 families from Nehm district and 1,500 families from the Al-Khaniq camp in Nehm were displaced.

The sources added that all the displaced people from Nehm and Majzar

districts settled in Al-Zabra camp in the Madghel District in the Ma'rib Governorate.

On Sunday, the United Nations said that the escalation of armed confrontations in several regions of the governorates of Marib, Al-Jawf and Sana'a, since mid-January, has forced at least 4,700 families to flee.

The UN official warned that ten million Yemenis are one step away from starvation, and 7 million people are suffering from malnutrition (starvation).
