On the occasion of the UAE’s celebration of the return of its forces from Yemen last Saturday, the UAE had a prominent role in the country, which started with direct and field support to liberate the Yemeni provinces from the Iranian Houthi militia, all the way to fighting security insecurity and terrorist organizations such as Al Qaeda.

The UAE is considered the most important player in the Yemeni equation, especially in southern Yemen, as the regions and governorates of the south would not have been liberated and settled had it not been for the direct UAE supervision and support.

The UAE interfered with the Arab coalition countries in Yemen in the summer of 2015, to stop the Houthi expansion that was then trying to control the southern provinces after tightening its grip on the north, and its intervention resulted in the liberation of the city of Aden, as a result of its support for the southern resistance with weapons, as well as the UAE air cover.

And through the liberation of Aden, the attention of the Emirates turned to the West Coast, where it was able to liberate large areas of it in partnership with the southern forces, leading to patriotism.

Returning to southern Yemen, the UAE liberated, in partnership with the southern powers that supplied it with arms and money, the coast of Hadramaut and the Shabwa and Abyan governorates of Al Qaeda, which considered these areas as a major bastion for it and where the senior leadership of the organization resided.

And it is considered the prominent country in the coalition and presence in Yemen, which triumphed over three sides, the Houthis, al-Qaeda, and lawlessness, in Aden, Abyan, Shabwa, and the Hadhramaut coast.

To this day, the state continues to support the southern forces against the Houthis and terrorism and maintains what has been accomplished despite the obstacles of the Brotherhood's reformist forces and the legitimate government. The UAE supports the combined forces on the west coast to also fight the Houthis.

As a relief, the Emirates Red Crescent was present in every region liberated by its humanitarian assistance, through which I wanted to alleviate the suffering of the people as a result of the war.

The Red Crescent has worked for five years to provide relief to the Yemeni citizen, whether with food and shelter materials, or with the support of the health sector, or by helping to provide for critical and humanitarian cases that require treatment, or by returning schools that have been demolished.

After the events of August last year, from fighting between the Islah and Southern Transition militia in Aden, the UAE supplied fuel to Aden for three months, after the government relinquished its responsibility.
