Al-Wahbani family refuses to bury son's case before revealing details of his death inside Al-Axis prison

Fawaz al-Wahbani, brother of ayman al-Wahbani, who was kidnapped by Taiz soldiers and found dead inside al-Axis prison, said his family refuses to bury his brother's body in the refrigerator of the military hospital for nearly a month and a half, until the details of the crime are revealed.

Al-Wahbani told Newsymen that the case is pending with the military prosecutor' office, and investigations are continuing, but it has been prolonged because there are those who refuse to comply with the commission of inquiry, and there are also fugitives from justice.

Al-Wahbani revealed that his family had asked for a forensic doctor to reveal the body, that the doctor had apparently examined the body only through observation, and when the family requested an autopsy, there was no possibility.

Al-Wahbani called for speedy investigations and the announcement of its results, and punishment for all those who caused this heinous crime in accordance with sharia and law so that they do not recur.

Al-Wahbani said his family will have vigils to press for the investigation of the crime, reveal its results and punish the perpetrators, calling on the sons of Taiz and all human rights organizations to stand with his family and pressure the leadership of the axis to clarify public opinion and demystify the details of the case.

Al-Wahbani held the leadership of the Taiz axis fully responsible for the crime, where his brother was kidnapped and found dead in mysterious circumstances inside the Axis Command prison, Saba School, more than twenty-five days after his abduction.

Ayman al-Wahbani was kidnapped by unknown assailants on November 27 last year, and his family received a call two days later stating that her son was with military intelligence, and a day later she received another call from him to learn that her son was in the Axis Command, which is based in Saba School.

On December 24, the father received a phone call telling him that his son was sick and asking him to come to pick him up, treat him and sign an obligation to bring him in when he was summoned, and when the father entered the Axis Command prison, his son found a dead body with a fossilized face with blood flowing from his nose and foam coming out of his mouth.

The leader of the Taiz axis, Maj. Gen. Khaled Fadhil, immediately after the crime, tried to justify it that Al-Wahbani was detained because of security issues, causing the situation of protests against the crime to escalate, especially since the Axis leadership is not legally authorized to imprison and restrict the freedom of any citizen.

After the escalation of protests against the crime, the axis leader met with the family of the victim, Al-Wahbani, and assured her that the prosecution was conducting its investigations into the case, and Fadhil vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, announcing that he would resign if the perpetrators were not arrested and prosecuted.

Human rights activist Iman al-Sabry told Newsmen that "the axis leadership committed more than one crime, namely kidnapping al-Wahbani and restricting his freedom without any legal authority, and then the crime of placing him in a subordinate prison, which is not authorized by law to arrest any citizen, even the military, the Axis command is not a control body. It is an administrative body, and the failure to bring charges against Wahbani throughout his detention is a crime, as no citizen may be detained without charge."

"The axis of Taiz during the war has been a lot of crimes that are a flagrant violation of local and international laws, some of which amount to war crimes, where a prisoner was liquidated in the military police prison, and the death of Al-Wahbani in a prison belonging to the Axis Command remains unclear, and cases have been recorded. "A field execution carried out by the Taiz army, which does not fall under the statute of limitations."

According to observers, the killing of prisoners in illegal prisons belonging to the Ta'izz axis will increase in the face of the chaos of the de facto authority represented by the Islah party, which controls Taiz by force, unless there is a serious stand by the President of the Republic to dismiss and prosecute those responsible for these crimes.
These crimes also confirm that Taiz is today ruled by an armed militia that does not believe in the state or law, and receives its instructions from the group's guide, and if it is delegitimized, these crimes cannot take place under a state under the rule of law.

The mysterious death of Al-Wahbani inside the Taiz axis command prison sparked public discontent, and a number of social media activists launched campaigns in solidarity with his family, which refuses to bury his body without revealing details of the crime and arresting those responsible and prosecuting those responsible, stressing the option Escalate to the highest levels until these demands are met.
